ENGG1050 - Academic and Professional Development for Engineering + AI is a foundational course that builds community and explores the intersection of engineering disciplines with artificial intelligence. Through collaborative projects and faculty mentorship, students develop the skills to become the next generation of engineer-innovators.
Engineering AI Solutions for a Smarter Hong Kong
Every city has its own unique challenges and opportunities. In a dynamic metropolis like Hong Kong, leveraging technology to enhance urban life is key to its future development. This requires innovative solutions that are not only technically sound but also deeply empathetic to the needs of its diverse communities.
Focusing on specific local neighborhoods in Hong Kong, our ENGG1050 students have researched and proposed AI-driven solutions to tackle prevalent urban challenges. Their posters present the culmination of a design-thinking process, where they identified a core problem faced by a target community, and developed a novel AI concept to address it. We invite you to explore their ideas and discuss how these emerging technologies can be harnessed to build a more intelligent and responsive city.
