Invitation to Schools and Departments to submit funding proposals for the Mainland-Hong Kong University Alliances Fund 2025-26

The Fund, supported by the Education Bureau (EDB) and the University Grants Committee (UGC), aims to promote collaboration between Hong Kong and Mainland universities. We encourage you to submit your proposals via the secretariats of "Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau University Alliance (GHMUA)" ( ), "Beijing-Hong Kong University Alliance (BHUA)" ( ), "Shanghai-Hong Kong University Alliance (SHUA)" ( 港大 ) and Jiangsu-Hong Kong-Macao University Alliance(JHMUA) ”( ).  A maximum provision of HK$100K per project will be allocated. The application round of 2025-2026 is now calling for funding proposals.  

Implementation Period: 1 July 2025 to 30 June 2026

Application Deadline: 30 June 2025

Provision and Scope of Funding:
1) A maximum provision of HK$100,000 will be allocated to each selected project (per year). The project could be held in or outside Hong Kong.

2) Should there be any unspent balance upon completion of all proposed initiatives, the organizer has to return the unspent balance to the respective leading university.

3) While the Education Bureau or UGC does not claim copyright or other intellectual property rights of the output produced by the universities, suitable acknowledgment of the UGC funding should be included in the publication/publicity arrangement concerning the projects/initiatives supported by this funding.

 

1. Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao University Alliance (GHMUA) 粵港澳高校聯盟

Funding: 

  1. GHMUA Summer School: Approximately HK$150,000 per year
  2. GHMUA Events, Forums/ Symposiums: up to HK$50,000 per project
