Prof. Becky P. Y. Loo
Department of Geography, The University of Hong Kong

Becky P.Y. Loo (JP, BA(First Class Honours), PhD(HK), FAcSS, FCILT) is a Professor in the Department of Geography at the University of Hong Kong. She is also an Honorary Professor in the Department of Civil, Environmental & Geomatic Engineering at the University College London (UCL) (United Kingdom) and an Honorary Professor in the School of Economics and Management at Beijing Jiaotong University (China). Earlier this year, she completed her three-year Changjiang Chair Professorship by the Ministry of Education of China. Professor Loo is the Founding Co-Editor-in-Chief of Travel Behaviour and Society, as well as an Associate Editor of Sustainable Cities and Society and the Journal of Transport Geography. Her research can broadly be classified into four major areas: (i) transit, walkability, travel behaviour and urban forms; (ii) road safety, health and spatial analysis, (iii) sustainability, regional development and transport decarbonisation, and (iv) smart cites and big data analytics.
