Dr. Tu Diep Cong Thanh

Dr. Tu Diep Cong Thanh currently serves as an Associate Professor at Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City and is the Director of the Center for Intellectual Property & Technology Transfer. Formerly, he held positions as the Principal of Bac Lieu University and the Director of the National Key Program of Science and Technology for Sustainable Development in the Mekong Delta.

Additionally, Dr. Thanh is a Visiting Professor for various European Union Erasmus Mundus Advanced Training Programs (EU4M, JEMARO, EMARO, EMMME, EUROASIA) and is an alumnus of the Leader Innovation Fellowship Award under the Newton Fund by the Royal Academy Of Engineering. His expertise lies in mechatronics, robotics, and medical care devices. Notably, Dr. Thanh achieved the title of the Youngest Associate Professor in Vietnam at the age of 32.

Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City (VNUHCM) played a pivotal role as a co-chair in the National Key Program of Science and Technology for Sustainable Development in the Mekong Delta. It also held a significant position as a "key-person" for the Ho Chi Minh City Smart City Project. The seminar will unveil the outcomes of the Mekong Delta Programs & New Framework, addressing crucial issues like drought and salinity problem-solving, strategies to combat bank erosion, the implementation of the Mekong GIS system, and innovative waste treatment solutions. Moreover, the event will highlight the achievements of the Ho Chi Minh Smart City Project and provide a brief overview of the contributions of VNUHCM.
