Have you ever struggled with communicating your thoughts because you can't find the right words for the context or found your speech unnatural even though you've learned a lot of vocabulary? This workshop is a good opportunity for you improve your conversational skills through narrative English with humor elements, which can be very different from what you learned from the textbook. 

Intended learning outcomes: 

By the end of this workshop, you will be able to:

  • Choose the appropriate language register to express intended communication tones in the spoken contexts
  • Produce natural English speech with appropriate word choice and correct pronunciation features 
  • Develop intercultural communication skills and get familiar with English varieties through stand-up comedy

This is a HMAW1905-recognized event in the “Personal Enrichment & Community Service” category under the "Self-directed Experience" of HMAW1905: Behavioral Foundations of University Education: Habits, Mindsets, and Wellness. To receive 1.5 hours, you must attend the session in full and miss no more than 10 mins.
