Tackling Climate Change and Achieving Sustainability: Singapore’s prospective

Nations which have signed the Paris Accord are obliged to work towards carbon neutral in a specific time frame. Singapore is one of the many countries which had signed the Accord. This presentation highlights the efforts made by Singapore as a whole. The country has adopted a multi-efforts approach by putting forward many different possible efforts to achieve carbon neutral. These include obtaining energy by means of solar, nuclear power, geothermal, hydrogen, and other means. If certain efforts are established to be not promising or too costly after studies, Singapore can rely on other means that can achieve the goal in a more efficient and cost way of achieving carbon neutral. The roles that geotechnical engineers can play are also highlighted.
