This competition is a fast-paced simulation of a real-world project. Teams are to work collaboratively on a problem to provide a set of deliverables within a short timeframe. Utilising their theoretical knowledge, students gain first-hand experience to develop their critical thinking, build new skill sets, push themselves out of their comfort zone and build lasting relationships.

The Hackathon is a unique opportunity for students worldwide to apply their academic knowledge to real-world engineering challenges, fostering teamwork, problem-solving, and critical skills. This free-to-enter, hands-on competition prepares students for future careers by emphasising budgeting, communication, and project management. Not to mention the winning solutions walk away with cash prizes!

The Hackathon challenge will be released on 12 November 2023 after which students will have until 26 November 2023 to submit a 5-minute video and a written component.
