“China in Maps: 500 Years of Evolving Images”- Guided Tour (English)

Join us for a fascinating 1-hour guided tour of the Library’s “China in Maps: 500 Years of Evolving Images” Exhibition! Our student docent will take you on a journey through the different types of maps, showcasing some of the most unique maps in our Library’s Special Collections.

During the tour, you will learn about how different perspectives, techniques, and knowledge shape the map-making, and how maps have been translated and disseminated. You will also have the opportunity to see some of the rarest and most valuable maps in our collection, including antique maps, maps that shaped the European perceptions of China for many centuries, and maps that are full of imagination.

Whether you are a history fan, a map enthusiast, or simply curious about the world around you, our guided tour is surely a memorable experience. So come and join us for an hour of discovery and exploration!

Remarks: This is a HMAW 1905-recognized event in the “Personal Enrichment & Community Service” category under the “Self-directed Experience” of HMAW1905: Behavioral Foundation of University Education: Habits, Mindsets, and Wellness. To receive 1 hour, you must attend the event in full and miss no more than 10 minutes.
