随着以人工智能为代表的第四次工业革命的到来,全球已经进入快速智能化发展阶段,这对工程教育提出了很大挑战,工业化转型需要工程教育先行,工程教育与国家发展同频共振,为经济增长提供了重要支撑,但我们面临的挑战是创新能力不足和创新人才不足。创新型人才培养要求我们实施“全面工程教育”,以培养出“顶天立地”的优秀工程师。报告指出,培养“顶天立地”的工程师需要更加强调创新能力、实践能力和家国情怀的培养培育。

With the arrival of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, represented by artificial intelligence, the world has entered a phase of rapid intelligent development. This poses a great challenge to engineering education. The industrial transformation requires engineering education to take the lead, resonate with the national development, and provide important support for economic growth. However, the challenges we face are insufficient innovative ability and innovative talent. To cultivate innovative talents, we need to implement "Total Engineering Education" to cultivate outstanding engineers with indomitable spirit. The report points out that cultivating engineers with indomitable spirit requires a stronger emphasis on the cultivation of innovation ability, practical ability, and homeland perspective.

涂善东,中国工程院院士,华东理工大学教授,博士生导师,兼任国际压力容器学会亚大地区主席、国际机构学与机器科学联合会可靠性委员会委员、先进材料和标准凡尔赛合作组织分技术委员会共同主席、英国诺丁汉大学荣誉教授等,以及多个学术期刊的副主编或编委。长期从事化工装备安全、高温强度学、先进能源材料与装备等研究工作,倡导全面工程教育。先后获国家科技进步一等奖 1项,国家科技进步二等奖 3 项,国家发明二等奖 1项,国家教学成果二等奖 1项,省部级特等奖、一等奖 10 项。

Prof. TU Shandong is an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, a professor and doctoral supervisor at East China University of Science and Technology. He also serves as the Chairman of Asian Oceanic Regional Committee of International Council for Pressure Vessel Technology, a member of the Reliability Committee of the International Federation for the Promotion of Mechanism and Machine Science, Co-Chair of Technology Committee on Versailles Project on Advanced Materials and Standards, Honorary Professor at the University of Nottingham, etc. He is also an Associate Editor or Editorial Board Member of several academic journals.  Driven by the safety concern of the process and energy equipment, Professor Tu has been engaged in developing knowledge in the area of high temperature structural integrity and engineering, including creep, fatigue fracture, structural integrity monitoring and design of high temperature equipment. He is the active advocator of Total Engineering Education. He received a number of distinguished awards, including China National Science and Technology Progress Award, National Technology Invention Award, China Youth Science and Technology Award, ASME Best Paper Award and so on.

鸣智教育论坛由香港科技大学(广州)副校长(教学)办公室,教育创新与实践研究所主办,是教师培训系列活动的组成部分。我们将根据港科大(广州)教育创新探索的需求,邀请相关领域的研究者和实践者做客本论坛,与学校师生和感兴趣的人们分享教育教学实践和研究中的思考、领悟、挑战、问题,并共同探讨应对和解决办法。相关领域包括大学教学改革、高等教育评估与评价、学习科学、课程与教学法、认知心理学、脑科学、神经科学、教育大数据、高等教育国际化,高等教育政策等。

 

Mingzhi Education Forum

"Mingzhi Education Forum" is hosted by the Institute of Education Innovation and Practice, the Vice President of Teaching and Learning Office, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou), VPTLO-IEIP, HKUST(GZ). It is an integral part of a series of teacher training activities. Based on the needs of HKUST (GZ) for educational innovation, we will invite scholars and practitioners in related fields to be guest speakers at this Forum to share thoughts, insights, challenges, problems, and discuss solutions together. Relevant fields include but are not limited to innovation in teaching and learning, higher education assessment and evaluation, learning science, curriculum and pedagogy, cognitive psychology, brain science, neuroscience, education big data, higher education internationalization, and higher education policy.
