Frontier Technologies Seminars 2022 by HKUST-BDR Joint Research Institute - Data Deficiency in Visual perception Challenges and Recent Research

HKUST-BDR Joint Research Institute (HBJRI) is going to organize an online Frontier Technologies Seminar on 20 October 2022 (Thursday). Prof. Yingcong CHEN from AI Thrust, Information Hub, HKUST(GZ), will give seminars on topics on “Data Deficiency in Visual Perception: Challenges and Recent Research” to researchers in Bright Dream Robotics (BDR) and HKUST.

 

All UST staff and students are welcome to attend the seminar and explore potential ways of collaboration on mutually-interested research projects.

 

Topics that BDR is interested in are as follows:

- Construction Robotics (typically, integration of control, actuation, and vision)

- AI & Big data

- Building Technologies & Intelligent Manufacturing

Prof. Yingcong CHEN
Department of Computer Science and Engineering

Yingcong Chen is an Assistant Professor at AI Thrust of Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou), and is also jointly appointed by the department of Computer Science & Engineering. Prior to that, he was a Postdoctoral Associate at Computer Science & Artificial Intelligence Lab of Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He has published over 20 papers from top-tier conferences and journals, including 11 first-authored/corresponding-authored ones. Among them, four are published in TPAMI, one is categorized as ESI highly cited paper, and four are selected as oral representation in CVPR and ICCV. He is a senior program committee member of AAAI and IJCAI, and serves as a reviewer for IJCV, TIP, CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, NeurIPS, ICML, etc.
