National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) / Research Grants Council (RGC) Collaborative Research Scheme 2022/23 Exercise (NEW PROGRAMME)

 

NSFC/RGC Collaborative Research Scheme (CRS) aims to support larger scale collaborative research across disciplines and / or across universities in the Mainland and Hong Kong, with a view to enhancing the research output and impact on both sides.

Important Note

Each Mainland or Hong Kong applicant is only allowed to submit one application in the capacity of either the PI under NSFC / RGC JRS Research Grants or the PC under NSFC / RGC CRS in the same exercise. 

 

Funding Limit

For Hong Kong applicants, the grants sought for each project should not exceed HK$3.6 million (exclusive of on-costs). For Mainland applicants, the maximum funding amount per project is RMB 3 million (exclusive of on-costs).

 

Project Duration

4 years (all proposals funded in this exercise should commence on or before 1 January 2023)

 

Institutional Quota

A maximum of 5 submissions

(Internal shortlisting will be arranged if exceeding 5 submissions received.)

 

Deadline

1 March 2022 (Tuesday) (5:00 pm) for Expression of Interest submission to Research Office (RO)

 

Notes for Applicants

  • Please send the Expression of Interest to RO (via roemily@ust.hk) by 5 pm, 1 March 2022 (Tuesday). Submissions after the deadline will not be considered.

 

  • Shortlisted applicants should submit the completed full proposal and collaboration agreement to RO (via roemily@ust.hk) by 5 pm, 11 April 2022 (Monday) for compliance checking before submitting to the RGC.

Applicant will be notified if his/her proposal is shortlisted internally

11 April 2022 (Monday)

(Internal Deadline of Proposal Submission)

Shortlisted PCs to submit the full proposal to RO for compliance checking

(English editing service may not be provided for proposals sent to RO after this day.)

26 April 2022 (Tuesday)

(5 pm)

Shortlisted PCs to submit the finalized full proposal to RO for getting university endorsement

29 April 2022 (Friday)

(5 pm)
