Call for Entries – HKUST Info Challenge 2020

Due to the explosion of information nowadays, acquiring accurate information is a significant challenge to every business and institution. The HKUST Info Challenge is now open for entries and we are asking you to find a way to obtain vast amount of information quickly and accurately. All students are invited to participate!

Contestants will be provided with a list of preliminary information (sample) and will be asked to fill the gaps within 72 hours. Contestants are encouraged to come up with an automated method to acquire the information. Top 50 students who completed the list accurately will be awarded HK$1,000 and the HKUST Info Challenge certificate. A Grand Prize of HK$2,000 will be awarded to the contestant with the most accurate, fully completed list.

Rewards:

70% completion: HK$500 and certificate

Top 50 accurate completions: HK$1,000 and certificate

Grand Prize (Most accurate completion): HK$2,000 and certificate

Eligibility: All HKUST Students

Deadline for Registration: November 16, 2020

Rules:

• The list of preliminary information will be sent to contestants on November 19.
• Contestants will have to fill in the absent data in the spreadsheet and return the file within 72 hours (once they receive the file).
• The list must be completed with at least 70% accuracy and completeness to be considered by the University.
• Winners will be announced in 1 week after the deadline of submission.
• In submitting their entries, contestants grant permission to the University to take, and have, full and free use of the information within.
