Talk Description
Calvin Fung is one of the First batch of students from EEIC at HKUST. In this talk, he will share his career and working experiences since graduation. In particular, he will describe his current job duties and function at Nomura. He will tell you what you should expect in your work when you graduate and provide some tips on finding the first job and your career planning. Moreover, he will share his experience on how to handle the struggles when you switch your track from school to working environment and how to leverage for your skill to help your team and your career.
Speaker's Biography:
Calvin Fung graduated in 2000 with BEng EEIC and had a MSc in Information Engineering. He is currently employed as Vice President in Database and Middleware Engineering in Infrastructure at Nomura (ASIA investment bank). He has been working in the industry for over 10 years and his previous positions also included Advisory System Analyst in IBM, System Analyst in Sun Life Financial and System Engineer in StartEastNet.com.
