BRIEF INTRODUCTION

With "solar terms" as the thread and "rhythm" as the weft, music serves as the pulse and dance as the breath, creating an epic dialogue between nature and culture through the resonance of drumming and movement. Drawing from the richness of ethnic culture, natural landscape, and daily life, the performance presents a compelling blend of rhythm and style that marries vibrant drumming with elegant movement. The lively drumbeats ignite joy and energy, while the dance captures the flow of time, allowing the audience to sense humanity and nature coexist in harmony.

Jie’ represents humanity, while ‘Qi’ symbolises nature. Drumbeats resonate like the awakening thunder of spring, and the dance flows like the silent descent of autumn leaves. The Hong Kong Dance Company invites you to pause amid the rapid pace of modern life. Let’s observe the gentle fall of dew and the graceful migration of birds, reconnecting with the present moment that harmonises with all of existence.

*With post-performance meet-the-artist session (Cantonese)

Guest: Yang Yuntao, MH (Artistic Director of the Hong Kong Dance Company Limited)
