Plant-based 101 online talk

We are all struggling to maintain a healthy diet during the pandemic. And few of us even know what a healthy diet is! According to the World Health Organization, an optimal diet not only protects from diseases but also increases happiness, provides energy, and supports the learning process. They recommend vegetables, fruits, whole grains, legumes, and nuts to be a major part of a diet, while at the same time limiting animal products. There are many ways to prepare surprisingly tasty, attractive, and affordable plant-based meals!

In addition to feeling great, you will be helping to slow global warming and reduce factory farming of animals. As the carbon footprint from animal-derived product is extremely high compared to plants, the world’s leading scientists and organizations have been calling for reducing meat consumption as one of the best ways to reduce our impact on the environment. SO, TIME TO MAKE SOME CHANGES!

Our Green Team “HKUST GreenMondays” volunteering group of students and staff are organizing an Introductory Talk on 14 March, 2022 (Monday) from 12:00-13:00.We are grateful to invite Mr. Rei Chan, the project coordinator of the Green Monday, to share his experience and tips on building a sustainable lifestyle, identify healthier and more delicious plant-based food choices for cooking nutritional veggie dishes.
