Ling WONG founded Running Calligraphy in 2020 and has worked with different organizations including Hong Kong Museum of History, Eslite@HK etc. to spread the beauty of Chinese calligraphy. Her works incorporate the style of Running and Regular Script with creative elements showcasing the harmony of traditional and modern arts. What she believes is that calligraphy is not only a form of art but also a way out of the daily stress in this city jungle. Staff and students of HKUST are welcome to join this workshop to learn how to write their own Fai Chun for the coming CNY. This one-hour event will begin with basic knowledge of Chinese calligraphy and the fundamentals of writing Chinese characters. After that, you can get your hands dirty with ink! The instructor will demonstrate how to write the word「福」(happiness) and other common 4-word blessings.

*Participants will receive a starter kit and embark on their calligraphy journey after this workshop.
