Professor Xiuli DU
Beijing University of Technology, Academician, Chinese Academy of Engineering

Professor Xiuli Du is Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, former Vice President of Beijing University of Technology. Prof. Du obtained his Ph.D. from Institute of Engineering Mechanics, China Earthquake Administration in 1990. Prof. Du has obtained creative and fruitful achievements in theory of structural dynamics and application to underground structures, buildings, and bridges. These results include highly efficient algorithms for complex wave dynamics, artificial boundaries, multi-axial strength theory and elasto-plastic constitutive theory for geomaterials, microscopic analysis of mechanical properties of concrete materials. He has been in charge of more than 20 major national and provincial-level projects and more than 10 projects in community service. Especially, He is in charge of 1 Major Program of National Natural Science Foundation of China and 1 Major State Basic Research Development Program dealing with structure dynamics, soil dynamics and interaction between structures and soils. He has published more than 300 papers in English and Chinese, and published 6 monographs in Chinese. He has been awarded 5 Second-class National Science and Technology Progress Awards, 10 provincial-level Science and Technology Progress Awards.
