Over the past few years, there is a growing interest in lead halide perovskites as promising materials for photovoltaics, Light-emitting diode, X-ray detection, and Catalysis applications due to their appropriate bandgap, strong light absorption, defect tolerance, and long carrier diffusion lengths. However, conversion efficiencies and long-term stability are still two major hurdles preventing the long-term commercial profit of perovskite-related devices. The main causes are inevitable harmful lattice defects during crystal growth and easy phase transition under external stimuli. To overcome these harmful defects, defect passivation with doping and post-treatment are performed in lead halide perovskite materials to obtain higher performance. Phase stability is the main issue in the optoelectronic application of full inorganic lead halide perovskite. A novel strain method developed to obtain a stable photoactive perovskite phase will be presented. Lastly, the perovskite applications including Photodetector, Light-emitting diode, X-ray detection, and photo-catalysis will be discussed.
