IoT Thrust Seminar | Resource Allocation in 5G: NR-V2X & Wi-Fi 6/7

9:00am - 10:00am
ONLINE ONLY; Zoom ID: 993 6200 5119 , Passcode: iott

In 5G/5G advanced era, New Radio (NR) Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) and Wi-Fi 6/7 are two emerging wireless technologies used in intelligent transportation and indoor local area networking. In this talk, I will describe the existing unexplored features inside NR-V2X and Wi-Fi 6/7 and how to mitigate their impact to meet more stringent requirements (i.e., higher reliability and higher throughput) in the upcoming 6G stage. Specifically, for NR-V2X, I will discuss the resource allocation for packet collision avoidance in the intra-type (using Semi-Persistent Scheduling defined in the 3GPP standard) and inter-type V2X communications in the out-of-coverage. For Wi-Fi 6/7, I will provide a designers guide perspective for switching to SU-MIMO or MU-MIMO with higher downlink throughput.
