IoT Thrust Seminar | Advanced Computing Technologies in Space-Air-Ground Integrated Networks

2:00pm - 3:00pm
Zoom ID: 817 3861 3180 Passcode: iott Offline venue: E3 - 202

Space-air-ground integrated networks (SAGINs) are key elements for facilitating high-speed seamless connectivity to the devices/users located in vast areas including the infrastructure-less environments, where the traditional terrestrial networks are critically infeasible or uneconomical to be fully deployed. This talk focuses on the advanced computing technologies that support the utilization of SAGINs for various services. The advanced computing technologies refer to the emerging computing techniques, tools and the processes that can be utilized to support SAGINs in handling the increasing computing tasks. This talk first introduces the background of SAGINs with the typical use cases of SAGINs in infrastructure-less environments. Then, it summarizes several recent advanced computing technologies to assist SAGINs to meet the requirements of various services. Finally, it discusses the open research challenges.
