Abstract:
In recent years, emerging digital technologies represented by large models have entered an unprecedented new phase. How to leverage these new technologies to help financial institutions carry out digital transformation has attracted widespread attention in the industry. This seminar will offer some thought-provoking examples. First, the AI-powered "Business Assistant" based on Chat BI helps financial institutions achieve deep insights into performance and intelligent decision-making. It has been promoted in some business lines of Ping An Property & Casualty Insurance, assisting thousands of employees in achieving performance insights and intelligent decisions, significantly improving the efficiency of daily business management. Second, in the field of financial risk prevention and control, the seminar will introduce a case using new digital technologies, such as reinforcement learning, to warn of tail risks in the financial market, offering valuable insights for investment risk management.
Dr. Wang Lei is the Head of the Frontier Technology Department at Ping An Technology. He focuses on the research and application of artificial intelligence technologies in the fields of economics, finance, and quantitative investment, with nearly 20 years of experience in algorithm research and work. Dr. Wang has published over 20 papers related to financial technology in international conferences and authoritative core journals. He worked at the National Bureau of Statistics for 10 years, where his research reports were endorsed by major leaders of the State Council. Since 2017, he has led over 20 AI projects, achieving practical results with project amounts in the hundreds of millions of RMB Yuan. The smart economy platform he led was selected as a national big data pilot demonstration project by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology in 2020, and it has achieved innovative breakthroughs in economic projects in major cities like Shenzhen and Chongqing. The financial risk warning and quantitative investment models developed under his leadership have been used by multiple banks, securities firms, and wealth management companies, including Ping An. In recent years, he and his team have won several prestigious awards, including the Wu Wenjun Artificial Intelligence Science and Technology Progress Award (First Prize) and the Guangdong Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award (First Prize).
