Invitation for Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Health Working Group (HWG) Concept Notes Submission for Project Session 2 2021

Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) is a regional economic forum comprising 21 dynamic economies to leverage the growing interdependence of the Asia-Pacific. APEC is now calling for Health Working Group (HWG) Concept Note submission from member economies for Project Session 2 2021.

The Concept Note should clearly addresses one or more of the objectives of the Health Working Group (HWG) and engages in at least one of the four key areas of the Healthy Asia Pacific 2020 Initiative. It should also align with the HWG Strategic Plan 2016 – 2020, and future iterations of the HWG Strategic Plan. Ideas related to COVID-19 response or recovery are expected to be a priority during this session and relevant Concept Notes may be ranked highly.  Please refer to here for more detailed requirements.

Funding Limit

There is no preset level of maximum funding limit for project.

[APEC provides funding for over 100 projects each year, with around USD16.5 million available in 2020.]

Eligibility and Application Procedures

Full-time academic staff is eligible to apply. The application must be submitted / endorsed by the Government (Food and Health Bureau) via the Research Office (RO).

Interested colleagues please submit the APEC Concept Note by completing the template provided in a maximum of 3 pages and send it to RO for review and submission. Applicants are reminded to choose the APEC project funding source which suits your project carefully. Please also note that the field "Co-sponsoring economies" on the Concept Note will be completed by the Food and Health Bureau after discussion with other APEC member economies' health ministries / bureaux / departments, as appropriate.
