IP Seminar - Patent Essentials for University Researchers

11:00am - 12:00pm
Chen Kuan Cheng Forum (LT-H)

Protecting intellectual property is a critical step in commercializing university research. However, converting research intended for academic publication into a commercially valuable patent can be challenging. Research decisions made well before drafting a patent application has even begun can impact the likelihood of commercialization as well as the scope, strength, and even the validity of the granted patented.

This seminar will cover the requirements and process for obtaining a patent and what university researchers can do to not only increase strength and scope of a patent, but also improve the likelihood of commercializing the patented invention.
