Call for Proposals – Strategic Public Policy Research Funding Scheme 2021-22
Policy Innovation and Co-ordination Office (PICO) is calling for proposals for Strategic Public Policy Funding Scheme 2021-22 (SPPR) under which 14 strategic themes are included for this round of exercise, namely :
(1) Development Opportunities from the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area under the National 14th Five-Year Plan
(2) “Dual Circulation” and Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership in Synergy with the Belt and Road Initiative
(3) Belt and Road Initiative: Economic and Trade Co-operation Zones
(4) Big Data / Smart City
(5) Innovation and Technology / Artificial Intelligence / Re-Industrialization
(6) Alternative Procurement Models for Major Infrastructure Projects
(7) Developing Green Finance in Hong Kong
(8) Consolidating Hong Kong’s Position as an International Logistics Hub
(9) Transitional Housing
(10) Children, Youth and Family Development
(11) Ageing Population
(12) Healthcare Innovations in the Post-COVID 19 Pandemic Era
(13) Manpower Supply and Development
(14) Waste Management in the Post-COVID 19 Pandemic Era
Project Duration
3 to 5 years
Funding Limit
Ranging from HK$3 million to HK$5 million
Quota
Maximum number of PPR/SPPR projects that a PI can hold concurrently is TWO normally
Eligibility and Application Procedures
- academics, teaching/research staff who are teaching or eligible to teach a course in undergraduate programmes or above
- visiting scholars/adjunct professors/honorary professors/emeritus professors who are teaching or eligible to teach a course in undergraduate programmes or above
