HKUST-Bright Dream Robotics Joint Research Institute (HBJRI) cordially invites HKUST faculty to express interest in the themes and topics released by the Guangdong Bright Dream Robotics Co. Ltd. (BDR), and submit project proposals.

 

This batch of call for proposals has the following Pre-defined research topics:

1.    云环境下的网态安全技术研究
       Research on network security technology in cloud environment

2.    BIM设计中基于构件特征进行识别的技术研究
       Research on recognition technology based on component characteristics in BIM design

3.    基于区块链的BIM资产保护和存储技术研究
       Research on blockchain based BIM asset protection and storage technology

4.    基于深度学习的工程图纸识别与结构化数据生成研究
       Research on engineering drawing recognition and structured data generation based on deep learning

5.    面向建筑领域深度文本理解和知识库构建研究
       Research on in-depth text understanding and knowledge base construction for architecture

6.    基坑安全风险与预警机制研究
       Research on safety risk and early warning mechanism of foundation pit

7.    数字孪生基坑快速建模及更新技术研究
       Research on rapid modeling and updating technology of digital twin for foundation pit

8.    四足机器人关键技术研究
       Research on key technologies of quadruped robot

9.    一种新型固态片上激光雷达系统(第一阶段)
       A new type of solid-state on-chip lidar system (phase one)

10.  超高性能混凝土(UHPC)室内装饰板
       Ultra high performance concrete (UHPC) interior decoration board

11.  新型叠合楼板试验研究与标准编制
       Experimental study and standard compilation of New Composite Floor

12.  广角亚毫米级精度的近距离深度相机开发
       Development of a wide-angle sub-millimeter precision close-range depth camera

       Construction quality detection and building environment perception based on small sample learning

14.  室内无人机导航定位与识别系统
       Navigation, positioning and recognition system for indoor UAV

16.  抹灰机器人砂浆相关关键技术问题研究
       Research on the key technical problems of mortar for plastering robot

17.  外墙喷涂机器人测试与风险评估
       Testing and risk assessment of external wall spraying robot

 

Remarks: English versions of the topics are for reference only. In case of discrepancies, the Simplified Chinese version shall prevail.

Project Duration

Typically around 1 year (including R&D and acceptance testing by user; depending on project requirements)

 

Funding

Typically around HK$2 - 3.5 million per project (depending on project nature and duration)

 

Application Procedure

- Faculty express their interest by here. Details of the projects will then be released to those who show interest.

- HBJRI will facilitate communication between HKUST faculty and BDR R&D teams on the project’s research direction and technical specifications.

- Faculty can then submit a full proposal for panel selection and review after confirming contents with BDR R&D team.
