About the Exhibition

From 4 April to 19 April 2023, an art exhibition “Gift Me A Moment” (「當下是最好的禮物」) will be jointly organized by the School of Humanities and Social Science (SHSS), Interdisciplinary Programs Office (IPO) and HKUST Diversity and Equal Opportunities team at the area outside LT-C and LT-D.  The art pieces are created by a group of artists who are in recovery of mental illnesses and receiving training at the New Life Psychiatric Rehabilitation Association.  The exhibition will feature various art pieces with the themes of “eat” and “travel”, after their visits to various spots in Hong Kong.

“Gift Me A Moment” 「當下是最好的禮物」

  • Gift means both “talent” and “present” in English.  Here, it represents the unique talent of every person in recovery (PIR).  Through this exhibition, hope you can see and feel PIR’s effort and competence.

  • Present, a synonym of “gift”, also means “the present moment” (當下)It is important to remind ourselves to focus on the present moment, enjoy details of our life, and take good care of our body, mind and spirit.

Apart from the exhibition, you are invited to the "Meeting the Artists" session(s) to understand more about the daily lives and experiences of persons in recovery.
