Mainland-Hong Kong Joint Funding Scheme (MHKJFS)
ITC is now inviting applications for the MHKJFS. MHKJFS aims to support and encourage R&D collaboration among universities, research institutes and technology enterprises in Hong Kong and the Mainland. It provides funding support for both platform (at least 10% industry sponsorship) and collaborative (at least 50% industry sponsorship) R&D projects with an element of Mainland and Hong Kong cooperation.
It is now soliciting proposals with the following three specific themes:
(1) Biotechnology:
(a) Research on Prevention and Treatment of Cancer;
(b) Research on Modernization of Chinese Medicine; and
(c) Prevention and Treatment of Respiratory Tract Infection;
(2) Artificial Intelligence; and
(3) New Materials.
Applications under the MHKJFS must be submitted simultaneously by the Hong Kong and Mainland institutions to ITC and the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) respectively, where R&D work must be conducted in both places. ITC and MOST will provide funding to the Hong Kong and Mainland applicant organizations respectively, and will monitor project progress according to their own requirements.

創新科技署現開始接受「內地與香港聯合資助計劃」(聯合資助計劃)的申請。聯合資助計劃旨在支持及鼓勵香港和內地的大學、科研機構和科技企業加強科研合作。計劃支援具備內地與香港合作元素的平台(需有最少10%的業界贊助)及合作(需有最少50%的業界贊助)研發項目。
項目申請書需合乎以下的特定主題：(1)「生物技術」: (a)癌症防治研究;(b)中醫藥現代化研究;及(c)呼吸道傳染病的預防與治療;(2)「人工智能」;及(3)「新材料」。
聯合資助計劃的申請必須由香港和內地的機構共同提出，並分別向創新科技署及科技部遞交，而項目的研發工作亦必須在兩地均有進行。創新科技署和科技部會分別向香港和內地的申請機構提供資助，並會按照各自的規定監察項目進展。
